In the Scout movement learning new skills or developing knowledge about a particular subject was rewarded by gaining a badge which was then sewn proudly on to the arm of your uniform. There is a huge variety of subjects to choose from. Mr Thomas was a member from 1936 until 1944. He later went on to become a leader for the 8th Stafford Catholic Scout Group. These are some of the many badges that he attained through his personal achievements. They include First Aid, Health, Camping and Firefighting. Does anyone know what the White Elephant badge was for? Could it be fundraising?
